Socio-Economic Development

Promote socio-economic income generating activities while developing the capacity of women, youths, students, adults, agricultural entrepreneurs etc. either through formal training for reinsertion into life main stream or by directly assisting them morally, technically and financially to be at least 70% self-sustaining,

Approach:

Support farmers maximize value of their products (from improved planting materials of diverse species produced in their nurseries to food and tree products) and minimize spoilage and post-harvest losses.

Potential Impact:

Over 20% increase of direct income for small-scale farmers – especially women.

Challenges:

Technical and human capacity to cover effort required to reach (train, coach and support) a critical mass of food processors.

AFAF through the support of partners look forward to setup of small cottage industries in partnership with farmers for value addition of agricultural and tree products while increasing profit margins to agricultural entrepreneurs and creating employment.
