Continuous provision of up-to-date research results in form of advisory services to promote sustainable agricultural options among agricultural entrepreneurs, we look forward to the application of enhanced farming techniquespromote indoor (greenhouse) and outdoor farming technologies to achieve an all-season high yield agricultural production in peri- urban and rural communities to guarantee food security while offering jobs and energizing local economies.

 

Approach:

Set up pilot production farms (Bongob Farms) demonstrating and creating awareness for all-season advanced agricultural habitats (A.S.A.A.H).

  • Demonstration of a combination of indoor (greenhouse) and outdoor farming technologies to achieve high yields.
  • Application of optimal technical and management conditions adapted to the competence and capacities of local farmers.
  • Demonstration of the production of quality nutritious food, vegetables and fruits in line with the principles of sustainable agricultural intensification.
  • AFAF pilot greenhouse cultivation of vegetables provides hands-on experience to Agric technicians, students and farmers
  • AFAF Out-door diverse food crops (potatoes, plantains, yams, diverse leafy vegetables) and trees crops (oil palm, coffee, diverse indigenous and exotic fruit trees cultivation demonstrate enhanced farming methods to local farmers and interested ‘agro-entrepreneurs’
  • AFAF enhanced plantain production: rapid mass multiplication and cultivation in mixed food crop system
