Asaah Fonyam and Angwi Foundation

AFAF

With and in respect of the laws of Association and NGO in Cameroon NO 90/053 of 19th December 1990, the Asaah family, registered Asaah Fonyam and AngwiFoundation (AFAF) to honor the memory of Papa Peter Fonyam Asaah (a formal medical practitioner of the North West Regional Delegation of Public Health, Bamenda, Cameroon) and his wife Esther Angwi Asaah (who was a housewife, and agricultural entrepreneur). AFAF was created by the Asaah surviving children (namely: Mr. Munyah Charles Asaah – Computer Software Engineer, Mr. Eniet David Takwe Asaah – Electrical Engineer & Operations Management Expert and Dr. Ebenezar Kutchambi Asaah – Agroforestry & Food Security Expert) to mark the 27 and 17 years respectively following the transition of their beloved parents.

Fonyam and Angwi Asaah believed in Food Security and Education as the backbone of development in each society. Their vision was that every child should have access to adequate education and every family should have a secured food supply. This led to their engagement in supporting numerous under-privileged children to get education. They also initiated several agricultural projects in rural areas in Momo and Mezam Divisions of the North-West region of Cameroon, that ended up enhancing local food production and villagers’ incomes.

It is therefore, in recognition of their contributions/ achievements, and most importantly, to promote the sustainable environmental and developmental ideals and principles these great persons stood for; that the Asaah family created the Asaah Fonyam and Angwi Foundation.

The Organs of the Asaah Fonyam & Angwi Foundation (AFAF) are: General Assembly, Board of Trustees, Technical Control Committee, Supervisory Committee and Administration. AFAF has the following units: Agriculture & Environment, Socioeconomic Development and Capacity Development
