Promote and perpetuate, agroforestry, climate smart agriculture, rehabilitation of degraded landscapes to benefit the poor and the environment,

Approach:
  • Setup nurseries and develop capacity of famers to produce various improved planting materials of priority species for food, soil fertility management, forage, medicine, energy, crafts, timber etc.
  • Raise awareness for the large adoption of agroforestry and other conservation agricultural options in food and tree crop production systems,
  • Continuous sensitization of farmers based on up-to-date research results on the health hazards associated with the abusive use of chemical fertilizer and pesticides on mankind, biodiversity and to the environment.
Potential Impact:

Increase tree cover on target landscapes by planting of these tree species to rehabilitate degraded farmland, community forests, manage sustainably water catchments, sustain wildlife while adapting and rendering the target landscape more resilient to the effects of climate change.
